Hartzell 3-Bladed Super Q-Tip Propeller Upgrade

 Image

Operators of TPE331-10T-powered Twin Commanders (converted 690A/B models that have Hartzell propellers) as well as the JetProp Series (690D, 695, and 695A/B) with Dowty Rotol propellers can opt for the new Twin Commander-Aero Air Super Q three-blade prop. The Super Q uses wide-chord blade technology and a higher degree of blade twist to give more bite to the power of the Dash 10T engine.

Operators report a 100-fpm increase in all-engine rate of climb with the Super Q, and as much as a 12-knot increase in true airspeed at FL 250. Thanks to the increase in speed, max range is extended by about 60 miles. Also, the bent Q-tip blade ends contribute to a quieter ride in the cabin at climb and cruise propeller-rpm settings.

The Super Q for the 690A/B, which has the same 106-inch diameter as the standard propeller, does not require a hub or spinner change. No special maintenance or inspection procedures apply to the Super Q. A shipset of six blades includes all necessary STC paperwork. JetProp owners will receive a new propeller assembly.
