The PT6 is a turboprop aircraft engine manufactured by Pratt and Whitney Canada. It has an unusual design in that the air enters from the rear of the engine and the power section is at the front. However, it is the power section that requires the most maintenance and having it at the front makes it more accessible than burying it in an engine nacelle or the body of the aircraft.
Acronym for Fixed Base Operator. An airport-based business which parks, services, fuels, and may repair aircraft. The term was coined to differentiate FBO from business or individuals without an established place of business on the airport.
TPE331 is a turboprop engine utilizing a two stage centrifugal compressor, an annular combustion chamber and three stage axial turbine with an integral gearbox. Horsepower ratings vary from 575 to 1200 horsepower depending upon engine model and installation.
